Overview
At The Pharmacy Network, our pharmacists can provide resupply of the oral contraceptive pill for eligible patients, helping you maintain continuous and reliable access to contraception.
This service is available at The Pharmacy on Bunda, The Pharmacy on Northbourne, and The Pharmacy on Franklin, offering a convenient, same-day option if you are unable to see your GP in time.
Service Restrictions
There are strict eligibility criteria for Pharmacist-led resupply of the contraceptive pill. You may be eligible for contraceptive pill resupply if you:
Are aged 18 to 49 years
Are taking the pill for contraception

Have been prescribed the same low-risk pill for at least 2 years
Have been using it continuously
There are restrictions on which contraceptive pills Pharmacists can resupply. Speak to one of our Pharmacists to see if your pill is eligible.
Pharmacists can only supply the same pill you have previously been prescribed and cannot start or change contraception under this service.
What Is Contraceptive Pill Resupply?
Contraceptive pill resupply allows our pharmacists to provide your existing oral contraceptive pill following a structured consultation, without the need for a new prescription.
This service is designed to:
Prevent interruptions to contraception
Support safe, ongoing use
Provide timely access to treatment when needed

How Our Pharmacists Can Help
During a consultation at The Pharmacy Network, our pharmacists will:

Confirm that resupply is safe and appropriate
Provide advice on correct use and missed doses
Providing structured assessment and safe supply of medicines is consistent with the PSA Professional Practice Standards.
What to Expect at The Pharmacy Network
Consultations are conducted in a private consultation area at The Pharmacy Network. Our pharmacists will ask a series of questions to ensure the pill remains suitable for you.
If you are eligible, your prescription can be resupplied during the same visit, allowing for fast, convenient access to contraception.
When Referral Is Needed
This service is not suitable for everyone. Our pharmacists will recommend referral to your GP if:
You do not meet the eligibility criteria
There have been changes in your health or medical history
You are experiencing side effects or concerns
You require a new or different contraceptive option

You require a contraceptive pill that is not able to be prescribed by a pharmacist
