NDSS Access Point

Overview

At The Pharmacy Network, our pharmacies are registered providers under the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS), supporting people living with diabetes to access essential products and services at a subsidised price.

You can access NDSS supplies at The Pharmacy on Bunda, The Pharmacy on Northbourne, and The Pharmacy on Franklin, offering a convenient, local option for ongoing diabetes support.

Service Restrictions

You must be registered with the NDSS to access diabetes products at a subsidised price. Diabetes products can be purchased at full price by people who are not NDSS registered.

What Is the NDSS?

The National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) is an Australian Government program that provides subsidised diabetes-related products and support services to eligible people living with diabetes (Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, 2023).

The NDSS is designed to:

  • Improve access to essential diabetes supplies

  • Support self-management of diabetes

  • Help reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications

To access NDSS services and subsidised products, you must be registered with the program.

What Products Are Available?

At The Pharmacy Network, NDSS-registered patients can access a range of subsidised products, including:

  • Blood glucose testing strips

  • Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and flash monitoring products (where eligible)

  • Insulin pump supplies (where eligible)

  • Insulin pen needles

  • Syringes and other diabetes consumables

Availability and degree of subsidy of NDSS products depends on NDSS eligibility criteria (NDSS, 2023).
