Riodine Povidone Iodine Antiseptic Ointment is a topical antiseptic which is used to treat infection in cuts, minor burns, blisters, wounds, and abrasions. Riodine also helps treat other fungal bacterial infections of the skin like impetigo (school sores), chicken pox, blisters & boils. Finally, it also helps treat minor nail infections like tinea.
Ingredients
Povidone-Iodine U.S.P. 10% (equivalent to 1% available Iodine)
How to Use
Use a fresh clean cotton bud, gauze, or cotton wool to apply the ointment. Ensure you puta enough ointment to maintain microbicidal activity in the presence of blood, pus, serum or mucosal secretions. Once you have applied Riodine ointment, the area can then be bandaged.
Riodine ointment can be used for -
Minor Burns: Where skin is reddened or unbroken. Do not use on extensive burn areas.
Blisters: For broken and unbroken blisters apply ointment liberally to the affected area.
Chicken Pox Sores: Apply twice daily to the affected area until infection clears in order to minimise secondary infection and scarring.
Boils: Cover the entire boil area twice a day until the infection clears.
