Chilblain Ointment by McGloins, is a topical anaesthetic for the temporary relief of chilblains.
Chilblains are patches of red, swollen, and itchy skin. Chilblains are thought to be caused by a combination of cold weather and poor circulation. Extremities such as the toes, fingers, nose, and earlobes are most at risk.
The ointment has Benzocaine and comes in a yellowish transparent paste.
Ingredients
1g contains Camphor 68mg, Benzocaine 20mg, Balsam-Peru 20mg, Phenol 9mg in a Lanolin/Paraffin base.
How to Use
Before going to bed, bathe the chilblain in hot water, dry thoroughly. Apply to the skin only.
Adults and children: Gently massage a small amount of cream into the affected area. If required, cover it with lint or a bandage. The chilblain ointment can be used up to 3 times a day.
Resist the urge to scratch, as this will further damage the skin. Always keep chilblains warm and dry.
