Kenalog in Orabase Paste is designed for the times when you need fast-healing, pain and inflammation relief, and barrier-protection from painful mouth ulcers, sore gums or discomfort from dentures and braces. Mouth ulcers can be a painful and uncomfortable problem to live with. The good news is you can treat your ulcers at home with Kenalog in Orabase®, which not only provides fast pain and inflammation relief, but also provides added protection while accelerating the healing process. Kenalog in Orabase® is different to other mouth ulcer gels – it contains a corticosteroid active ingredient called triamcinolone acetonide within a sticky moist-wound healing paste, called Orabase®. The benefits of this oral paste are: Delivers fast relief of oral pain, tenderness, and inflammation arising from mouth ulcers and other oral irritations. Speeds up healing of ulcers, painful gums, and other types of oral lesions. Forms a protective barrier over the sore, to help minimise the discomfort of further irritation or accidental abrasion.
Ingredients
Active Ingredient: Triamcinolone Acetonide 40 mg/ml. Contains: Benzyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 80, Carmellose Sodium, Sodium Chloride and Water.
How To Use
Kenalog in Orabase® is simple to use – all you have to remember is to dab NOT rub the paste onto the sore area in your mouth. Simple steps to using Kenalog in Orabase®: 1. Dab a small amount of paste (about 6mm) onto the affected area. Use enough to coat the area with a thin film. 2. Do not rub the paste in or try to spread the paste (this may cause a gritty feeling in your mouth and cause the paste to crumble). 3. Once the paste is applied correctly, a smooth, slippery film will develop. 2-3 times a day (depending on how painful your symptoms are). Preferably after meals. Before bedtime so the steroid can work throughout the night. Until all your symptoms have resolved.
Warnings
You are pregnant or intend to become pregnant while using the product, unless advised otherwise by your doctor or dentist. You are sensitive to triamcinolone acetonide or any of the other ingredients in Kenalog in Orabase® (which include gelatin, pectin, carmellose sodium and plastibase 50W). You have an infection in your mouth or throat or if you have tuberculosis, stomach ulcers or diabetes – unless you have discussed its use with your doctor first.
