COVID-19 Vaccination

Protect Yourself and Your Community from Severe COVID-19

COVID-19 is a contagious respiratory virus that can range from mild symptoms to severe disease. Older adults, pregnant women, and people with medical conditions are at higher risk of serious complications. Staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccination is one of the best ways to reduce your risk.

What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is a viral infection that affects the lungs and airways. It spreads through tiny droplets and particles in the air when people talk, cough, or sneeze. Symptoms can include fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, fatigue and shortness of breath. Some people can become very unwell, and others may have long-lasting symptoms after infection.

Why Get Vaccinated?
Vaccination helps your body build protection before you’re exposed. It lowers your chances of becoming seriously ill or hospitalised from COVID-19 - even if you’ve had the virus before. Because immunity fades over time, adults and some children may need updated doses.

Who Should Get the COVID-19 Vaccine?

  • People over the age of 65, or over the age of 18 and severely immunocompromised, are recommended to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccination.
  • People aged 18-64 are recommended to receive the primary course, and can consider staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccination
  • Children aged 6 months to 18 years can consider receiving a primary course of COVID-19 vaccination, but are not eligible for additional booster vaccines (Please note, we can only vaccinate 5 years and up in Pharmacies)
  • Travellers may need vaccination depending on destination requirements.
