Canesten Extra Clotrimazole and Hydrocortisone Cream is a broad spectrum anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory cream. It contains two active ingredients: clotrimazole and hydrocortisone. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which treats the root cause of fungal skin infections. Hydrocortisone is a mild topical steroid which reduces the swelling, redness and itching associated with inflammation of the skin.

Canesten Extra is recommended for the treatment and relief of symptoms of inflamed fungal skin such as athlete’s foot, jock itch and fungal nappy rash.

This cream should be used twice daily for no more than 7 days. Then continue treatment for 2 weeks with an anti-fungal only cream such as Canesten Clotrimazole Anti-fungal Cream to help avoid recurrence.

Ingredients

Contains Clotrimazole 10 mg/g and Hydrocortisone acetate 11.2 mg /g

Contains: Contains Benzyl alcohol 20mg/g as a preservative.

How To Use

Apply thinly and evenly with gentle rubbing to the affected area twice daily. Use only until inflammation, itching and redness have subsided and not more than 7 days(unless you have been advised by your doctor). Then use an anti-fungal only cream, such as Canesten Clotrimazole Antifungal cream for 14 days after symptoms disappear to help avoid recurrence of the infection. To open tube, remove cap and pierce protective seal with top end of cap.

Do not use on children under 2 years unless your doctor tells you to.
Do not use in the eyes.
Do not use on acne.
Do not use on broken skin. Do not cover treated skin with waterproof bandages.
Do not use if seal is broken or missing.
If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
Contains 20 mg/g benzyl alcohol as preservative. Store below 25°C.
